Abstract

405,510. Control of several motors; controllers. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., 28, Kingsway, London, and FENEMORE, A. S., 11, Manor Green, Stafford. May 25, 1933, No. 15138. [Class 38 (iii).] In equipment for regulating the relative output or speed of a plurality of dynamo-electric machines, movement of a main regulator to one side of its mid-position regulates one group of machines, whilst movement to the other side regulates another group of machines or a single machine, and one or more similar subsidiary regulators are provided for the relative adjustment of machines or groups of machines in the abovementioned groups. In the equipment shown in Fig. 2 for regulating three machines their field windings F1-F3 are fed from a supply S, and a main regulator E2 having resistances R3, R4 effects relative regulation of the windings F3 and the windings Fl and F2, whilst a subsidiary regulator E 1 effects relative regulation of the windings F1 and F2. In the equipment of Fig. 3 (not shown) regulation of four machines is effected by the provision of a second subsidiary regulator similar to the regulator E 1.
