[Class 136 (i).] In a luggage-carrier for trademen's bicycles, of the type comprising a basket or other receptacle supported at its base on a frame secured to the front of the cycle and provided at its upper part with a device for coupling it to the cycle frame near the upper part of the steering-head, such coupling-device consists of a substantially U-shaped bracket on one part adapted to fit into a horizontal slot in a bracket on the other part ; the lower supporting-frame and its connection to the cycle frame are also improved. The coupling-device comprises a collar 5, Figs. 1 and 3, secured to the steering- head 4 and formed with a lug 6 channelled to receive a horizontal bar 8, which is secured to side flanges 10 and has forwardly-bent limbs 11 provided with end bosses 12 to receive the lower ends 13 of a rod 14 bent to form an inverted U-shaped bracket 15, which engages a horizontally-slotted bracket on the back of the receptacle 1. The slotted bracket is formed of two bars 16, 17 bent into spaced relationship and secured to the receptacle 1 by means of bolts 18 and an internal stiffening strip 19. The lower supporting-frame 2 is formed from a single length of steel bar bent to form a pair of symmetrical side wings having corners fitting into L-shaped brackets 26, which have rear extensions 30 fitting into channels in the sides of lugs 31 on the lower end of the head 4, the ends being secured by the bolt 34 on which the rear-brake lever 35 is mounted. Stop lugs 36 engage the lower rear edge of the receptacle 1.
