Abstract
404,498. Compensating current meters for temperature errors. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitats-Ges. ; 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin.) March 17, 1933, No. 8154. Convention date, March 18, 1932. [Class 37.] In circuits employing rectifiers 10-13, more particularly of the dryplate type, so as to utilize D.C. instruments for measurement of current and voltage in A.C. systems, a further rectifier 15 with the same temperature characteristic is connected in shunt with the instrument 14. The effect of this is to tend to bye-pass to the instrument more current on rise of resistance with temperature and so compensate for a similar rise in the main rectifiers 10-13. In the example shown, as arranged for measuring voltage, series and shunt resistances 16, 17, 18 are also employed and the compensating rectifier 15 is constructionally embodied with the other rectifiers 10-13.
