[Class 131.] In a heating clip for use with a hair curler of the kind comprising two movable lateral jaws 2, 2a pivoted to a fixed central arch-shaped heating number 1, the heating element 5 is detachably mounted on the element 1, and the jaws 2, 2a are pivoted at 9 to the lateral edges of the central member 1. The heating element 5 comprises an electrical resistance contained within a light metal casing adapted to slide beneath flanges 3 on the member 1, and the jaws 2, 2a are provided with operating arms 6. As shown in Fig. 3, the arms 6 are provided with detachable electrical heating elements 8 engaging beneath lugs 7. In a modification, the heating elements 8 are omitted, and the outer ends of the arms 6 are covered with insulating material. The leads of a number of clips may be attached to a common plug adapted to be connected to a source of current, or may be connected to a junction box 12, Fig. 1, adapted to be attached to the back of a chair, and provided with a series of switches 14 ; each switch may control the heating of a single clip or, where the clip is provided with more than one heating element, may control the heating of one element. The junction box 12 is electrically connected by a wire 13 to a box 11 adapted to receive the entire outfit and provided with a lead 15 for connection to the supply main.
