Abstract
403,548. Change-speed gearing; motorcycle control levers. AKTIESELSKABET FISKER & NIELSEN, and FISKER, P. A., 30, Peter Bangsvej, Copenhagen. March 21, 1933, No. 8485. [Class 80 (ii).] Three-speed gearing comprises a gear 13, Fig. 1, slidably splined on a driven shaft 8. The gear 13 is shown in its mid position engaging a middle gear 3 fast on a driving- shaft 1, so yielding second speed. End gears 2, 4 fast on the shaft 1 mesh constantly with gears 11, 12 which are loose on the shaft 8 and carry clutch pins 16 on their inner faces. The gear 13 has through-holes 15, Fig. 3, which are drivingly engaged by the pins 16, when the gear 13 is moved to its end positions, to yield first and third speeds respectively. The gear 13 is operated by a fork 19 secured to a sliding striker rod 20 adapted to be locked in gear positions by a spring plunger 31. The rod 20 is controlled by a hand lever 24 which engages a flared hole 30 in the rod. An adaptation to a motor-cycle is shown in Fig. 4. The lever 24 is pivoted upon a bracket 28 secured to a frame bar 25 and extends up through a slotted guide plate 26 in front of the saddle 27.
