Abstract

402,704. Piling earth; conveyers. ORENSTEIN & KOPPEL AKT.-GES., 23, Tempelhofer Ufer, Berlin. July 14, 1933, No. 19964. Convention date, Feb. 9. [Classes 78 (i) and 78 (iv).] Apparatus for covering a refuse dump G with layers of earth I comprises an excavating device, a conveyer overhanging the slope of the dump, and a distributing device. As shown, an excavating wheel F is provided at the lower end of the bucket conveyer C which delivers to a swivelling shoot H and auxiliary shoot J, whereby earth is dug from a trench at the base of the dump and distributed over the top and the slope. The conveyer is pivoted at C<1> on a jib B, and is adjusted by a cable D. The jib may be mounted for slueing on a wheeled carriage A, and is balanced by a weighted arm K. Strickle plates, not illustrated, may throw off some of the earth from the rising scoops on to the slope of the dump.
