[Class 74 (i@] A loop transferring member 1 has its stem cranked laterally to form a main portion 5 and a shorter offset portion 7 having a shoulder 3 for engaging a loop to be transferred and positioning it for transference. A hook 2 and latch 2a, or a beard, is provided so that the member 1 can function as a needle. The member 1 is held in the needle trick in a flexed condition so that when it is projected with the cranked portion beyond the trick, it is deflected due to the resilience. Plain or rib eyelet fabric may be produced and patterning mechanism, preferably as in Specification 329,369, [Class 74 (ii), Knitting &c.], may be provided for selecting jacks disposed beneath the members 1.
