Abstract
401,056. Carding-engines. GREG& CO., Ltd., R., Hibbert Street, South Reddish and KNOWLES, J., 22, Burton Street, Heaton Norris, both in Lancashire. July 12, 1932, No. 19637. [Class 120 (iii).] Waste fibres and trash are collected and removed from the compartment below the licker-in g, Fig. 1, and feed mechanism d of a carding-engine by receiving the floating fibre and trash upon collecting mechanism (e.g. a slowly revolving roller e, Fig. 2) upon which the waste can accumulate to produce sleeves or wrappings which are then stripped or removed from the collecting means. A jacket f of flannel or raised or pile fabric may be applied to the roHer e, which is connected by a bayonet joint e<1> to the short driving shaft c. Alternatively a bristled surface may be used. Waste and trash from beneath the main cylinder j and doffer k may be carried on a slowly revolving apron i to the collecting means e.
