Abstract
400,441. Grinding-apparatus. SOC. ANON. D'OUGREE MARIHAYE, OugrÚe, Belgium. Dec. 7, 1932, No. 34700. Convention date, Dec. 7, 1931. Addition to 366,001. [Class 59.] In a process for regulating the fineness of grinding described in the parent Specification, the static pressure is produced in the interior of the grinding apparatus by communication with a source of compressed air. 'As shown applied to a tube mill 2, the material to be ground is fed in by a rotary spiral scoop 4 and a worm 2c in the inlet trunnion and is discharged through an enlarged outlet trunnion into a receptacle 6 provided with a rotary pocketed wheel 7. Pressure is introduced into the mill through a pipe 10 controlled by a valve 11, the pressure being indicated by a manometer 12. A constant pressure is maintained by a relief valve 13 in a pipe 14, an automatic valve 15 being fixed at the end of the pipe to discharge accumulated dust.
