Abstract
399,564. Machining pilger rolls. MANNESMANNRĂHREN-WERKE, 16, Berger Ufer, Dusseldorf, Germany. March 12,1932, No. 7386. Convention date, May 9, 1931. Addition to 353,829. [Classes 83 (ii), 83 (iii), and 83 (iv).] In machining a pair of pilger rolls by rotating a cutter 1 between the pass of the slowly rotated rolls as in the parent Specification, the cutter is traversed downwards from the plane E to the axial plane during machining, so that the pass will comprise a large circular arc as in the lower half of Fig. 2 and not as in the upper half. A hand or gear-operated spindle 4 is rotated to effect this movement through a worm and rack.
