Abstract
399,520. Pumps. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, ET CIE, Baden, Switzerland. April 7, 1933, No. 10506. Convention date, April 7, 1932. [Class 7 (ii).] A scavenging and charging compressor 3 for a two-stroke-cycle Diesel engine is driven jointly by an exhaust-driven turbine 2 and an electric motor 4 energized by an engine-driven generator 6. Regulating means may be provided between the generator and motor to limit the speed of revolution of the turbo-unit, while at a predetermined speed the functions of the generator and motor may be interchanged.
