Abstract
397,994. Insulators. MORRIS, F., 7, Grantly Street, Glasgow. June 9, 1932, No. 16274. [Class 36.] A strain insulator comprises truncated conical insulators 1, 1a connected base to base by a nut 3 which is formed with an internal thread for engagement with an external thread on a metal ring 2 disposed around the insulator 1, a second metal ring 2a which embraces the insulator 1a being formed with a shoulder 10 for engagement with a rim 9 on the nut 3. Tapered bolts 4, 4a, adapted to receive wire anchorage members, such as eyes 7, 7a, are disposed within tapered bores 6, 6a of the insulators 1, 1a respectively. To prevent contact between the bolts 4, 4a an insulating plug 8 may be fitted between the inner ends of the bolts.
