Abstract

397,735. Drying pulp-board. SIEMPELKAMP, E., 114, Bismarckstrasse, Krefeld, Germany. Dec. 8, 1932, No. 34833. Convention date, Dec. 8, 1931. [Class 96.] Plates of wood pulp &c. containing binding agents are dried by subjecting them to a temperature below that at which binding occurs whilst compressing the plate to the desired ultimate thickness, whereupon a higher temperature is applied to effect binding under pressure. In the first stage the temperature is above the boiling point of water, and the duration of the second stage may be sufficient for complete polymerization of the binder.
