Abstract
397,363. Bottle-capping machines. MODERN MACHINE TOOLS, Ltd., Butts Works, and WESTON, H., 9, Queensland Avenue, both in Coventry. Jan. 3, 1933, No. 119. [Class 125 (ii).] In a bottle-capping machine of the type comprising a base member adapted to fit over the mouth of. the bottle, a plunger reciprocating in the base, a magazine for paper discs and means operatively associated with the plunger for feeding the discs one at a time from the magazine to a position in the base member from which it is forced by the plunger into the mouth of the bottle, the magazine is carried by and above the plunger and in axial alignment therewith. As shown, the disc feeding means comprises a lever c pivoted on a pin a<2> which is carried by the plunger b and works in slots b<2> in the base member a. One end of the lever is slotted and engages a pin b<5> fixed to the stationary base member. In the position shown the plunger has just descended, forcing a disc d from the conical seating a<1> in the base into the bottle mouth. When the plunger rises the end c<1> of the lever will swing to the left and remove from the pile in the magazine f the lowermost disc which will fall down a shoot k on to the seating a<1>.
