Abstract
397,068. Batteries. EVER READY CO. (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd., Ever-Ready Works, Hercules Place, Holloway, London. April 4, 1933, No. 10134. Convention date, April 4, 1932. [Class 53.] A battery of dry cells enclosed in a casing 7 is provided with terminals 9 mounted on a side of the casing or on a separate strip of insulating material 14, the whole being enclosed in an outer container 13, the lid 16 of which is provided with apertures 19 through which the terminals project. The lid 16 may be in the form of a tray, the upstanding edges of which have openings 27 registering with openings 26 in the outer container for the passage of leads from the terminals. The tray may be secured in the open end of the container by staples. Alternatively the staples may be replaced by tubular rivets which serve as passages for the leads, the openings 26, 27 being dispensed with. A sealing strip of paper may be fastened outside the container 13 or placed between the upstanding edges of the lid 16 and the walls of the container 13. A second lid 21 may be provided having testing holes 24 covered with paper, the lid being secured in position by adhesive paper.
