Abstract

396,358. Washing grain. BœHLER, GEB., Uzwil, Switzerland. Oct. 26, 1931, No. 29650. Convention date, Dec. 24, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 82 (ii).] Apparatus for washing grain comprises an inclined cylindrical perforated casing 2 one end of which is immersed in the washing tank, the casing being slowly rotated and containing an eccentrically disposed conveying worm 4 which is driven at a different speed. A cylindrical brush 8, supported on arms 11 pivoted to lugs 12, is rotated by frictional engagement with the casing and prevents'clogging of the perforations. The worm is driven through a shaft 5 from the main drive 3, the shaft 5 having a gear wheel 6 at its end which meshes with a toothed rim 7 on the perforated casing. The grain may be rewashed by means of a spraying device 13 in the upper half of the casing.
