[Class 106 (i).] In a counting and indicating mechanism for liquid-delivering apparatus, the higher denomination of values is indicated by a pointer driven from the lower denomination pointer through an intermediate gear prevented from rotating but capable of a gyratory motion. In the arrangement shown, the meter spindle 16 is geared through pinions 19, 20 with the spindle 21 carrying the gallons pointer 14 and connected by a tubular shaft 24 and universal joints with a similar spindle and pointer for indicating on a duplicate dial. The pinion 20 is spring-urged against a disc 25 fixed to the spindle to permit zeroizing by reversal of the latter. Loose on the spindle 21 is a gear wheel 29 carrying the 20-gallon hand 15 and enclosing a disc 31 the elongated hub 32 of which is eccentrically mounted on the spindle. On this hub is a non-rotating 40-toothed spur wheel 33 adapted by its gyration to drive the wheel 29 through four pins 34 projecting therefrom. The wheel 33 is held against rotation by a disc'35 having an arm 36 engaging between lugs on the casing and frictionally pressed against the wheel by a spring backed by a cam 39 fixed to the hub 32. At each gallon this cam releases the hammer of a bell 42. The disc 31 is notched to co-operate with a pawl on the gear wheel 29 so that when the spindle 21 is rotated backwardly for zeroizing the disc will pick up the pawl and carry the wheel 29 and therefore also the hand 15 back to zero position as determined by a stop pawl on the casing engaging a notch in the wheel.
