Abstract

<PICT:0394587/III/1> The evaporators described in the parent Specification are provided with a series of byepass tubes I communicating between the upper and lower portions of the compartments of the liquid zone C through which the liquid may be circulated to control its temperature. The number of the tubes used in each compartment may be successively increased and each tube is provided with a valve by which it can be cut out of operation.
