[Class 99 (i).] In a spigot- and-socket joint for lined pipes a packing-ring d is inserted between the ends of the linings c, the lining of the pipe e extending into the socket where its thickness is equal to the width of the ring which contacts with the socket. The joint is completed by hemp b and lead a, or the pipes may be welded together.
