392,619. Sewing-machines. FAIRWEATHER, W. C., 65, Chancery Lane, London.-(Singer Manufacturing Co. ; Elizabeth, New Jersey, U.S.A.) Nov. 25, 1931, No. 32627. [Class 112.] The feed-dog 8 of a sewing-machine is moved into its operative position by tightening a screw 17, a tapered shoulder of which engages the tapering walls 22 of a curved slot 12 in the feed lift arm 11. The arm is wedge-shaped with its thick end at 21 and as the screw 17 is tightened one arm 16 of a bell-crank lever 13, 16 is forced to move down the incline 22 to the end 19 of the arm 11 where the slot is deepest. The consequent clockwise rotation of the lever 13 raises the feed-dog 8 into its operative position.
