Abstract
391,727. Vehicle spring suspensions. SOC. D'EXPLOITATION DES BREVETS LECOCQ ET TISSIER, 9, Avenue Franco- Russe, Paris. Dec. 22, 1932, No. 36334. Convention date, Feb. 6. [Class 108 (ii).] In a vehicle provided with four independent wheels the axles are carried by levers which are pivoted forwardly of the axles and to points situated above the main chassis members so that when the wheels are braked the adhesion of the wheels to the roadway will be increased and the centre of gravity of the vehicle lowered. Fig. 8 shows a wheel axle 2 carried by a lever 3 pivoted forwardly and upwardly at 4 a spring 6 bearing on the lever. As shown, a recoil spring B is interposed between the lever 3 and the chassis member 5 by means of a pivoted rod A and plates C, C<1> in order to prevent undue stress on the springs 6 on braking. The springs of each of the four wheel axles or of the two rear wheel axles may be obliquely arranged so that their axes would intersect at the centre of gravity as shown in Fig. 6.
