Abstract
390,490. Fluid-pressure brakes; valves. SERVO-FREIN DEWANDRE SOC. ANON., 68, Quai de Rome, Liege, Belgium. July 2, 1931, No. 19140. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 103 (i).] The inlet and outlet valves of a control device for fluid-pressure brakes are connected by a spring or other yielding member to enable both valves to remain closed during slight movement of the operating member of the valves and to permit closure of the valves if their seats are not parallel. As applied to a vacuum brake, the casing a is connected to the atmosphere at c, to the vacuum source at g, and to the brake cylinder at h. The valves k, n are connected by a spring o. If with the valves in the normal position shown, the piston d is raised by the lever e, the air inlet valve k is at first seated on the piston and after a short further movement of the piston, the spring is sufficiently tensioned to lift the valve n to connect the vacuum source to the brake cylinder to apply the brake.
