387,557. Vehicle bodies; omnibuses. SUNSALOON BODIES, Ltd. and PEARSON, D. A., Castteford Road, Sparkhill, Birmingham. May 7, 1932, No. 13205. [Class 108 (i).] The stanchions or pillars to support the roof of single-deck omnibuses or the upper floor of double-deck omnibuses are connected to the roof or upper floor by a joint of the universal kind. The stanchion e is provided at its upper end with a part-spherical ring f adapted to be engaged by a correspondingly shaped part d on a bracket or attachment plate a secured to the roof or upper floor. A clamping nut h is provided and the ring f is split to enable it to grip the stanchion firmly due to the pressure of the screwed socket d and nut h.
