Abstract
387,461. Oil engines; cycles. BAGNULO, A., 54, Rue Armand Silvestre, Courbevoie, Seine, France. Dec. 2, 1931, No. 33449. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1930. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iii).] In a hot-bulb engine, the bulb D is thermally insulated by an air space F from the cylinder head and communicates with the cylinder through a conduit M, the bulb being formed with openings in its walls to accommodate an igniter and the conduit M. The igniter and the conduit are thermally insulated by an air space from the walls of the bulb. The bulb is preferably carried by a cross-piece G so that it can be withdrawn from a recess E through a removable cover N, which is also insulated from the bulb. The cover N, the conduit M, and the fuel injector O are water-cooled. By closing the exhaust valve before the end of the exhaust stroke, burnt gases are retained in the cylinder to form part of the working charge. Specification 300,658 [Class 7 (iii), Internal-combustion engines, Carburetting-apparatus &c. for], is referred to.
