Abstract

386,748. Axle connections for laminated springs. McCULLOCH, J. C., 34, Finlay Drive, Dennistoun, Glasgow, and AINSWORTH, H. C. B., 17, Bloomfield Road, Blackpool. Nov. 17, 1931, No. 31806. [Class 108 (ii).] Vehicle laminated suspension springs are pivotally mounted at rightangles to the back axle 4 by bearing members 11 carrying a plate 17 under the spring 14 through which passes a bolt 15 having a hemispherical head 16, on which the bottom of the axle or its supporting plate 5 rests. A plate 6 and clamping members 8 carrying pivots 10 for the bearing members 11 are bolted to the plate 5. The invention may be applied to overslung vehicles.
