Abstract

384,666. Moistening gases. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.- (Industrial Dryer Corporation ; 432, Fairfield Avenue, Stamford, Connecticut, U.S.A.) June 4, 1931, No. 16257. [Class 55 (ii).] Air is alternately heated and passed in contact with moisture-impregnated bodies to humidify it, while another body of gas is passed in heat exchange relation, and out of communication, therewith to cool it. Gas is forced by fans C, D over a series of liquid-containing tanks F through which extend staggered vertical tubes E carrying absorbent tubular fibrous wicks G partly immersed in the liquid. Radiators H at intervals heat the air and liquid, which is constantly absorbed and replaced. Gas from the duct I is cooled by passage through the tubes E and may be heated at L near the outlet. The tanks may be carried on collars b on the tubes.
