Abstract
382,956. Spectacles &c. SQUIER, G. A., 314, Hickox Building, Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A. June 13, 1931, No. 17265. [Class 97 (i).] Spectacles &c. are provided with plaquets which constitute the sole nose-contacting members and are carried by arms so positioned that the plaquets will bear on the upper fleshy portion of the nose immediately beneath the eyebrows and above the point where the bony structure of the nose starts to widen, each of the plaquets having only one nosecontacting surface which is of convex form. In the form shown the plaquets 4 are disposed slightly above the centre line of the lenses 1 and are carried by S-shaped arms 3 secured to the frame. The rear face of each plaquet is provided with a pin 5 passing through an aperture in the arm 3, the pin being a loose fit in the aperture so that the plaquet is free to rotate and also to rock to accommodate itself to the nose.
