Abstract
Nickel-alkaline earth alloys containing up to 10 per cent of the alkaline-earth metal and up to 1 per cent of carbon are heat-treated by rapidly cooling them from 750-1350 DEG C. and reheating to 380-600 DEG C., preferably about 500 DEG C. The alloys may also contain one or more of the elements aluminium, chromium, cobalt, iron, copper, manganese, silicon, tantalum, titanium, vanadium, tungsten, boron, cerium, molybdenum, zinc, and tin, the total amount of such elements not exceeding 45 per cent.
