382,007. Sewing-machines. JELL, G. A., The Briars, Sanderstead, Croydon. Dec. 9, 1931, No. 23127. [Class 112.] Boot-sole sewing-machines.- A blade like gauge 8 is mounted on a plunger 7 situated upon or near a work table or support 1 the edge of which constitutes means for spacing a first row of stitches, e.g. of welt stitches in a Veldtschoen, and is adapted to be moved by a cam or eccentric underneath the plunger 7 into operative position in front of the edge of the support 1 for spacing a second row of stitches. The gauge 8 may be detachable so that it may be replaced by gauges of different sizes. As shown, the plunger 7 is guided in a holder 6 adjustably clamped to a depending limb 5 of the work table 1, and is raised to operative position by a cam 9 bearing against its lower end and operated by a finger lever 11. The plunger 7 is given a slight rotational movement, to swing the blade 8 to operative position, by a pin 13 and guide slot 14.
