380,723. Aerating-apparatus ; valves. MILLER, J. S., 1443, Manhattan Avenue, Hermosa Beach, California, U.S.A. March 4, 1932, No. 6615. Convention date, March 21, 1931. [Class 14 (i).] Valve-apparatus, without a mixing chamber, for aerating liquids, comprises a gas inlet valve 36, water inlet 12, and a conical valve 59 controlling the passage of mixed water and gas to a faucet connected to the spigot 66. A spring-pressed diaphragm 21 with a metal centre 18 is secured in a chamber 31 having a byepass 52, 49. When the faucet is opened the valve 59 is opened by the water pressure and gas escapes from the chamber 31, thus allowing a spring 16 and the water pressure combined to force the diaphragm to the left and open the valve 36. Gas under pressure then passes from the container along. the byepass 49, through a nozzle 46 and, together with water, through holes 63 in the valve 59, causing the water to be aerated.
