Abstract

379,062. Lubricating bearings. BRASCH, W., 4, Gartenstrasse, Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. July 23, 1931, No. 21049. [Classes 12 (i) and 12 (ii).] Lubricant is supplied to a journal bearing through circular openings 1, which may have juxtaposed longitudinal grooves 2, arranged in one or more longitudinal rows in the main zone of pressure in the loaded half of the bearing at a high pressure such that the supported portion of the shaft is raised from the surface of the bearing both before and during running.
