[Class 104 (ii).] A conveyer system for transporting articles round a workshop &c. comprises an inner continuously operating track 10 and one or more branch tracks 18 on to which the loadcarriers 30 may be diverted by means of a switch 23 operated by a hand-lever through a carriage 21 running on a transverse track 30. When the switch is in the full-line position shown in Fig. 2, the carrier 30 after passing the take-off portion 28 of the branch track, is disengaged from its trolley running on the track 10, and is pushed by hand &c. over the switch on to the curved part 18 of the branch track. Above the switch the inner track dips to allow the hook 17 connecting the carrier and trolley to become disengaged from the carrier. It is then lifted clear by rollers 50 on a vertically movable frame 45, 46, 49 operated by the switch lever through a cable 40. When the switch is in the dotted line position shown in Fig. 2, the rollers 50 are in such a position that they do not lift the hook 17, and the carrier continues on the inner track 10.
