Abstract

376,982. Vehicle &c.lamps. WILLIAMS, D., 3A, All Souls Place, Langham Street, London. Aug. 17, 1931, No. 23110. [Class 75 (ii).] Lantern fronts.- In a vehicle or like lamp a vertical prism 3 extends right across the outer or front surface of the front glass and a series of parallel triangular prisms 2 extend upwardly and outwardly on each side of the central prism to refract the light outwardly and downwardly. The prisms may be cut in or secured to the front glass. A sheet of glass is spaced slightly in front of the prisms and co-operates with a rim I provided with pipe connections 5, 6 to form a hollow chamber which may be more or less filled or emptied at will with a liquid adapted to neutralize or partly neutralize the refracting effects of the prisms. The liquid may be given a golden or orange colour for fog-penetration purposes.
