Abstract

376,485. Strainers. McCLELLAND, H., 59, Cambridge Street, Birmingham. June 30, 1931, No. 18817. [Class 46.] Conical and other strainers are removably fitted within and surrounded by a portable frame or cage having an open top and provided with a carrying handle for holding the strainer in use, the frame or cage having attached to it a plug or part 3 closing an opening 2 provided in the lower end of the strainer 1. The plug is stamped from sheet metal and has a tapering annular wall to ensure a tight fit. The wire frame or cage consists of converging side members 4 fastened to a large upper ring 6 and a small lower ring 5, a handle 7 being attached to the ring 6. Interchangeable strainers of different mesh may be used with the frame. Catches may be provided for holding the strainer in place.
