Abstract
Mono- or di-alkali cyanamides together with di- or tri-calcium phosphates are obtained by the reaction of calcium cyanamide and alkali phosphates in aqueous solution. In addition, an alkali carbonate or hydrate, or an alkaline earth oxide may take part in the reaction. The calcium phosphates may be separated from the solution of alkali cyanamide by washing with water. If the washing is incomplete the alkali cyanamide admixed with the calcium phosphates forms a fertilizer. The alkali cyanamides may be reacted with water to produce alkali carbonate and ammonia. According to an example, di-sodium phosphate is reacted with commercial calcium cyanamide in aqueous solution. A temperature of 85-90 DEG C. may be employed but 40-50 DEG C. is preferable. Di-sodium cyanamide and di-calcium phosphate are obtained.ALSO:Mono- or di-alkali cyanamides together with di- or tri-calcium phosphates are obtained by the reaction of calcium cyanamide and alkali phosphates in aqueous solution.
