[Class 44.] A padlock is locked by a key-operated bolt e which engages between the ends b, d of the pivoted shackle c. The bolt is slidably and pivotally mounted on the same pin h as the lock levers g. The free end b of the shackle may be formed as shown with a lug l which engages behind the lock casing or a pin m; the bearing k of the shackle is then of oval or other shape.
