Abstract
375,654. Braiding-machines. LARMUTH, J. H., Hill Crest, Upper Colwyn Bay. Oct. 16, 1931, No. 28751. [Class 74 (i).] A bobbin-carrier is provided with a rear upright 1 which has a lug 2 to hold the upper end of a wire rod 3, the lower end being fixed in the shoe 4. A dropper 6 slides on the part 1 and has a clearance hole for the rod 3. The yarn supports the weight against gravity and the pressure of a long spring 8 the whole of which or the upper end only is enclosed by a cover or covers on which is threaded a spring 14. The lower end of the bobbin is of ratchet form the teeth 19 being normally engaged by a detent 16 which the spring 14 by acting on the upper end 15 tends to retain in position. The dropper when lifted sufficiently comes in contact with the end 15 and releases the bobbin from the detent until the tension is reduced when the dropper and detent fall and lock the bobbin again. The springs &c. may be duplicated. Minor modifications of droppers &c. are described.
