Abstract
375,129. Wireless receiving systems. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. Aug. 20, 1931, No. 23497. Convention date, Aug. 20, 1930. [Class 40 (v).] The intermediate frequency in a superheterodyne receiver lies within 0À7 of the lowest and 1.4 of the highest frequency on the desired frequency band. By this means the image frequency is widely separated from the received frequency, thus rendering high selectivity unnecessary. Where two wave bands are to be received, the intermediate frequency may be between the two bands. To facilitate ganging of the heterodyne and receiving circuits the local oscillator is tuned by a fixed condenser and small variable condenser having specially shaped vanes so that it may be unicontrolled with the receiver tuning condenser. If operation on several frequency bands is desired, a separate small variable heterodyne condenser is provided for each band. The receiver has preselection means preceding the heterodyne stage.
