[Class 66.] Cans or like metal containers having tapered or flat upper portions affording reduced outlets to take spouts or necks 4 are made by constructing from one or more blanks tubular body parts of rectangular section and forming in the upper ends thereof pleats or folds such as 3 the wings of which are flattened against and soldered or welded to the inner or outer surface of the pyramidal or flat top so produced. The corners or edges of the containers may be strengthened by grooving or corrugating the metal.
