[Class 78 (i).] A conveying apparatus adapted to advance groups of photographic plates &c. through a sequence of developing, fixing &c. baths, comprises a pair of lifter bars c suspended by pins d<11> from pairs of endless chains d passing around upper chain wheels d<1>, d2 supported from a framing f and around lower wheels d3, d<4> the shafts of which are adjustable in slots f<2> in members f<1> adjustable vertically by cams f<5>. A series of laths a<1> .. a<9> are adapted to receive the groups of plates &c. which are suspended by rods b from frames b<2> located upon the bars c by pins b<3>. The chains d are driven from a motor e through chains e<2>, e<7>. The bars c are braced by cross members c<3>. In operation, the frames b<2> are successively placed in position on the bars c which are then raised, moved forward and lowered ; in the lower part of the movement, the frames rest upon funnels a<10> or other supports and are detached from the bars c which continue downwards, then move backwards and rise to engage the following groups of the series. The time of immersion in the baths mav be controlled bv an electric time switch for the motor actuated by the movement of the conveyer.
