Abstract

<PICT:0370984/III/1> The moisture content of black tea is tested during withering by pressing the chopped up leaf in a cylinder A and observing the moisture level E in a callibrated tube after a given interval of time, denoted by the sand glass I, and under a given pressure. The pressure may be applied hydraulically or mechanically.
