Abstract
368,502. Door fastenings. HUSBANDS, R. L., 9, Oxford Street, London. Feb. 20, 1931, No. 5358. [Class 44.] An ajar fastening particularly for securing cabin doors in partly-open position comprises a hook 2 pivoted on the striking plate 1 and adapted to enter and engage the edge of an aperture 11 in the face plate of the lock, where it is retained by a part 12 of the latch bolt 8 when the latter is in shot position. The aperture 11 may be above, or as shown, below, the bolt. The endplate of the lock is extended downwards and provided with a recess 10 which accommodates member 2 when in the depending position to which it is biased by a spring 3, and when the door is closed, bolt 8 then engaging an aperture in plate 1 in the usual way. Member 2 may have a finger recess 6.
