367,805. Animal-carrying vehicles; vehicle doors. MONARCH DOOR CONTROLLER CO., Ltd., 7, Victoria Street, London, and DIX, B. C., 36, Reed Pond Walk, Gidea Park, Essex. Nov. 24, 1930, No. 35332. [Class 108 (i).] In animal-carrying vehicles having a door the lower end of which is adapted to be raised to floor level when the door is lowered to form a ramp the door is controlled by means of two levers pivoted to the door and to separate spring means interacting cams being also provided. The door 1 rests in the closed position in plate brackets 3 and the lower edge is pivoted to levers 4 pivoted to the chassis at 5. The lever 9 pivoted at 8 to plate brackets 6 carried by the chassis is pivoted to a link 10 which is also pivoted to the door at 11. The levers 4 are provided with cams 7 which are adapted to coact with a cam 12 on the lever 9 and the levers 4, 9 are arranged under spring control from the springs 15, 18. On opening the door the lower end of the door will pivot about the plate brackets 3 and the link 10 about its pivot on the lever 9. This lever 9 is held up owing to the action of the cams 7 on the levers 4 which rise carrying the lower part of the door upwards and compressing the spring 15. When the door is nearly opened the cams 7, 12 permit the levers 9 to fall to a slight extent and the levers 4 are held up so that further opening brings the door into position.
