Abstract
367,152. Spinning-frame rollers and roller heads. MORTON, C., 32, Garden Street, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, U.S.A. Feb. 2, 1931, No. 3258. Convention date, Feb. 6, 1930. [Class 120 (ii).] In a spinning frame having drawing rollers set close together, an additional feed roller is mounted behind the back roller and drives the intermediate roller. The lower additional roller 16 is driven through gearing 24 .. 21 from the lower front roller 10, and drives the intermediate roller 14 through gearing 26, 27, 28, and the back roller through gearing 29, 30, 31 A relatively heavy top roller 32 may be provided for the additional back roller, the front and back rollers 10, 12 being weighted in a known manner. The shafts of different groups of rollers may be connected by means such as a tongue-andgroove joint 39, which may be journalled as at 41.
