Abstract
366,788. Railway sleepers. GARRATT, E. A. and GARRATT, E. C., 78, Gracechurch Street, and LE BAS, E., Dock House, Billiter Street, both in London. March 28, 1931, No. 9515. [Class 104 (ii).] A metal trough sleeper has edges F of cruciform shape. The edges may be depressed at the points where the chairs or chair plates are placed, as shown in Fig. 4, and the chairs &c. may be welded to the sleeper. The bottom of the sleeper may be grooved &c. to grip the ballast, and flanges &c. may be formed on the open ends of the sleeper to engage the ballast.
