A., 19, Rollason Road, Erding- ton, Birmingham, and CROWTHER, O., West Retford House, Tinsley Park, Sheffield. Jan. 2, 1931, No. 148. [Class 78 (i).] In a conveyer used in mining, the upper or working run of the belt is supported continuously upon a sheet-metal base formed by a jointed succession of trough-like sections a which are supported at the joints-by a series of stools b extending transversely beneath the conveyer and having means for restraining the sections against relative displacement either lengthwise or crosswise of the conveyer. The meeting ends of each adjacent pair of sections are provided with bars g, Fig. 2, which engage slots h provided in a stool b. Members i prevent transverse movement of the bars g. Each section has at one side an upstanding plate j, and at the other side a depending guard plate k. Antifriction rollers may be provided which project slightly upwards through the base of the trough.
