Abstract

1510338 Endless conveyers for elongated articles SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 4 July 1975 [9 July 1974] 28362/75 Heading B8A Elongated articles such as 12 (Figs. 1 and 5) or 26 (Fig. 6) are transported by pocketed members 5 carried by conveyer chains, the members 5 having a bearing surface 7 which co-operates with a surface 8 mounted between the chains. The member 5, as it rises between feed rails 13, picks up an article 12 and carries it to a discharge shoot 17. The lateral alignment of the articles 12 in the members 5 may be maintained in one direction by the collared configuration of the article, and in the other direction by an adjustable guide rail 16. A second rail 16 is mounted on the other side of the conveyer when the article 12 has no locating collar (as in Fig. 3, not shown). In another modification (Fig. 5), U-shaped brackets 25 are mounted on each member 5 to retain the article 12 against axial movement. The width of the rails 13 is adjustable at 29, 30.
