Abstract

365,601. Hair - waving appliances. HASELBACHER, J., 8, Palmgasse, Vienna. Oct. 21, 1930, No. 31531. Convention date, Dec. 2, 1929. [Class 131.] An electrically-heated hair-curling device comprises a spindle 1, Fig. 1, to which is pivoted a clip 2, a strip 3, consisting of two layers of flexible material between which are situated electric heating wires 4, being attached to the spindle 1. The device is used in conjunction with a heat-insulating clip 7, Figs. 3 and 5, provided at one end with a group of flat springs 8 connected together in zig-zag formation and carrying a bolt 9. In use, the end of the tress is clipped between the parts 1, 2 which are secured together by a sleeve 10. The outer end of the sleeve 10 is then engaged over the bolt 9 and the strip 3 is rolled up along with the tress of hair by means of a key which engages in a recess in the end 1a of the spindle 1, the springs .8 allowing the bolt 9 to adapt its position according to the thickness of the coil.
