[Class 135.] A rotary plug cock is made with the plug 1 having a slight conicity, of the order of 1 in a 100, and disposed so as to have a slight clearance in respect-of its seating by mounting between rigid upper and lower abutments, the lower abutment at the smaller end of the plug consisting of a spacing-piece 6 resting on the closed bottom 4 of the casing so as to maintain the clearance at any desired minimum value. The upper abutment is provided by the body of the packing gland 3.
