362,777. Valve discharge water-waste preventers. COCKBURN & CO., Ltd., M. and LEISHMAN, D., Gowanbank Iron Works, Falkirk, Stirlingshire. Feb. 24, 1931, No. 5743. [Class 26.] The stem 6, Figs. 1 and 4, of the valve 8 of a flushing cistern carries a piston working in a dashpot cylinder 4, which is open at the top, and has a small opening in or near the bottom, preferably constituted by a clearance 5 around the stem 6. The piston is constituted by a flexible washer 9a, or is provided with a non- return valve 10, the arrangement being such that the valve has a rapid upward and slow downward movement. A valve cage 3 is provided.
